About Travel Daily

Travel Daily is Australia’s leading travel trade publication. It is produced five days a week and distributed by email to subscribers in the travel industry.

The publication is noted for timely, accurate reporting, and aims to be ‘first with the latest’. It is circulated to an estimated 35,000 industry personnel across Australia and the globe each day, including retailers, wholesalers, airlines, cruise lines, hotel groups, car rental companies, government agencies and so on.

Travel Daily consists of a number of A4 pages carrying news stories, photographs and advertising, distributed in Adobe Acrobat PDF format via email.

Advertising produces immediate results and is seen as the most cost-effective way to promote to the Australian travel industry.

History

Travel Daily was started in 1994 by Mike Heard, and for many years was sent to subscribers as a two page fax each day.

The rise of the internet saw Travel Daily evolve into a PDF publication distributed by email, and the business was purchased in 2004 by Bruce and Jenny Piper.

Subscriber numbers have grown steadily and now Travel Daily is widely acknowledged as the most read daily publication for the Australian travel industry.

Statistics

A number of independent surveys have found that travel agents in Australia overwhelmingly get their news and information from Travel Daily. For example, a recent study undertaken by the Passport to Rewards program found that Travel Daily had more than five times the readership of its nearest competitor, a free online HTML newsletter. Another PDF newsletter came in third place with just one eighth of the readership of Travel Daily.

Because Travel Daily is a paid subscription open rates are exceptionally high, and our advertisers report excellent results from campaigns run in the newsletter.

Travel Daily’s online video service Travel Daily TV showcases video content and has attracted more than 250,000 views on YouTube.

An independent Australian business

Travel Daily is a 100% Australian owned and operated company. Although there are many imitators – some with very similar names – Travel Daily has an exceptional reputation for reliable reporting and successful advertising.

The owners of Travel Daily also publish Cruise Weekly, a free newsletter for consumers and travel agents about cruising (see www.cruiseweekly.com.au) and a pharmacy industry newsletter called Pharmacy Daily (see www.pharmacydaily.com.au).

Travel Daily has no affiliation with other publications with names such as Travel Daily News, Travel Daily Asia, Travel Daily UK, Travel Daily Middle East, Travel Daily China or Travel Daily Media. None of these publications provide our targeted coverage of the Australian market.
